Braxton Smith joined Sanford Sports in 2015. He is a certified athletic trainer and received his undergraduate degree at Augustana University. Smith has previous experience working with Gatorade, the Sioux Falls Canaries and the Jacksonville Jaguars.

He cares for the mind, body and spirit by helping athletes not only with injuries and diseases but also with issues or difficulties unrelated to sports.

Smith loves working at the Sanford Sports Complex because of the personal and professional relationships he makes with athletes. He takes pride in staying connected with athletes to give advice on injuries or mental health concerns after graduating.

Smith received the Going the Extra Mile award from Sanford Health in 2024.
