Steve Phillips joined the Sanford Sports Academy in 2012. He spent five years playing in the New York Yankees minor league system. Following his playing career, Phillips spent time as a coach for the Florida Marlins. During his time with the Marlins, he was named the Player Development Man of the Year in 2007. 

Phillips’ coaching style is focused on player development. Our goals need to start with the development of each player’s skill set while increasing their overall knowledge of the game.

Phillips believes in paying it forward. He wouldn’t be where he is today without the guidance he received during his playing career, and he’s trying to impart his knowledge and experience to the next generation.
