Lead Sports Academy SpecialistGrant Mindt joined Sanford Sports Academy in 2025. He began his career coaching youth hockey in Bismarck.
As a patient coach who likes to work hard on the ice, Mindt believes mastering skating is the most important part of becoming a successful hockey player. He prioritizes skating development no matter the age of his athletes.
The expertise and knowledge of his fellow Sanford Sports Academy coaches and their passion for hockey make every day of coaching fun for Mindt. The athletes also make his job rewarding by coming to the ice with a great attitude and a determination to improve.
Mindt started playing hockey as a kid and became more interested in the sport after his family hosted players from the Bismarck Bobcats in their home. He went on to play high school hockey for Bismarck High School, and after graduation, he earned a spot on a junior hockey team in Wisconsin. He finished his playing career with the Bismarck Bobcats.
