Great Shots reopens with exciting changes

The Great Shots golf entertainment venue at the Sanford Sports Complex in Sioux Falls is back open after being closed to implement exciting changes that include new turf, new games and new food. These changes come just ahead of the facility’s five-year anniversary in December. 

New turf
The updated golf range has a new layout with brand new obstacles. The field has been replaced with FieldTurf, which will play better and drain better. This change means less downtime and more playtime. 

New games
There is new hardware and software for our virtual golf range. Avid golfers will love the courses, including South Dakota’s own Sutton Bay. Casual golfers will love the brand-new games. With so many options there is bound to be a game that everyone can enjoy, including Scrapyard, an all-ages game that’s set in a junkyard.

The new golf range is powered by Trackman Range, a golf-ball tracking solution with tour-proven technology and the industry’s best virtual golf, practice and entertainment software. To optimize your experience be sure to download the free Trackman Golf app. 

New food
During golf games, be sure to check out the new food menu that has something for everyone. There are breakfast options for the brunch lovers. For larger groups, share some pizzas. If you are craving something on the healthier side, there are salads, pastas and rice bowls. Ask about our gluten free options. Just be sure to leave room for dessert. 

You can enjoy the food at your bay or in the main bar, where you can watch a sporting event on one of the largest TVs in the state of South Dakota. The Champions Club offers another place for visitors to eat and enjoy a drink. 

Anniversary celebration

Beginning August 25, 2024, Great Shots will undergo a major upgrade to our driving range turf. The project is expected to take approximately 8-10 weeks with anticipated reopening by early November. 

Throughout that time, the tee lines and golf bays will be closed. Not to worry, though, there are still plenty of ways customers can spend time at Great Shots. 

• Simulator Room: The simulator room is the newest indoor golf space at Great Shots. Available by reservation, players can continue to work on their golf skills in a private, climate-controlled area. The simulator room is equipped with Trackman technology, enhancing the overall experience! Tee times in the simulator room can be booked online at Great Shots Golf Simulator Room.  
• Event Spaces: Private event, meeting and holiday party spaces will remain open for reservations, and Great Shots would love to host yours! For more information, visit Great Shots Parties & Events.
• Sanford Sports Golf Academy: All programming will continue as usual.
• Food and Beverage: The main bar area will remain open. Please see the Great Shots website and social media for adjusted hours.
• Blue Rock Bar & Grill: Operating normally as well. So, there are some great food and beverage options at that location, too!
