Sanford Diamonds Policies

• No outside food/drink (refillable water bottles and coffee are allowed)
• All coolers are subject to be checked at the gate. Coolers must only contain ice and water.
• Alcohol and tobacco are prohibited at the Sanford Diamonds (including e-cigarettes and vapes).
• All game balls will be provided. Teams are allowed to bring in their own warm-up balls.
• Metals spikes are not allowed. All players must have molded cleats or turf shoes.
• Live video streaming and photography are not prohibited, but it must be done in a respectful manner. We ask you not to obstruct the view of any spectators. Streaming devices are not allowed to hang on the backstop netting.
• Photography is prohibited in team dugouts.
• WiFi access is available for no charge on the Sanford Guest network. No password is required.
• The Sanford Diamonds offers a live stream through Muscovision
• Lost children will be escorted to the main ticket building located directly at the main Diamonds entrance. 
• Lost and found items will be kept at the ticket building.
• Animals are permitted at the Sanford Diamonds. Pets must be leashed and cleaned up after.
• Strollers and chairs (stadium and bag) are permitted.
• Portable AED units are located at the ticket office and both concessions buildings.

Sanford Diamonds Youth Tournament Rules

• All Sanford tournaments are sanctioned by USA Softball and must abide by all USA Softball Rules.
• Umpire(s) will be provided for all games.
• All softball divisions will play seven inning games of 75-minutes games (finish the inning)
• Bats: all bats must meet all the USA Softball specifications and must not be listed on the USA Softball Non-Approved Bat List.
• Weather: Any delays or cancellations will be made by the tournament director. If a tournament is cancelled due to weather, refunds will be issued. 

Tie Breaker Rules
Tie breakers will go in this order: (1) Head-to-Head – (2) Runs allowed

 Age Determination

• Please refer to the USA Softball Age Classification Chart: the age classification is based on the player’s age as of September 1st of the year before they play. 
• Athletes may play in an older division but may not play in a younger division. 
• Players must play on only one team and one age division. 

Code of Conduct
The Sanford Diamonds will strive to provide a competitive, safe, and quality atmosphere for players, coaches, fans, and umpires. It is expected that everyone will follow the rules of the game, respect referees and opposing teams, and maintain good sportsmanship. If a patron is causing a disturbance to the game or other spectators, at the discretion of the event supervisor, they may be asked to exit the facility.

Certified Athletic Trainers
Sanford Health certified athletic trainers provide coverage at all tournaments. The training room is located inside the main ticket booth at the front entrance.

Sanford Fieldhouse Policies

• Lost and found items will be kept at the front desk.  
• Service animals are permitted in the Sanford Fieldhouse (the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) defines a service animal as a dog, of any breed or size, trained to perform a task directly related to a person’s disability)
• Spectators are prohibited on the turf- only players, coaches, and staff are permitted. 
• Bags and stadium chairs are permitted but must be kept of the turf. 
• Strollers are permitted.  
• There are three portable AED units located in the fieldhouse. AED units are located at the north and east entrances and the physical therapy evaluation room.

Tournament Rules

• Games are 65 minute "drop dead". Score reverts back to last completed inning
  • If time expires with away team up, score reverts back •
  • If time expires with home team up to bat and home team is behind, score reverts back. 
  • If time expires with home team up to bat and home team is ahead, home team wins the game. 
  • If time expires with home team up to bat and score is tied, and the home team was behind or tied at the end of the last completed inning, the game ends in a tie.
  • If time expires with home team up to bat and score is tied, and the home team was ahead at the end of the last completed inning, the home team wins.
  • If time expires during the championship game, we will finish the inning
• Home/away will be decided by a coin flip
• Dropped third strikes are playable
• Their will be no stealing home on pass balls to avoid injuries in small spaces
• USA softball rules will be applied for mercy rule and roster
  • 12run/3rd inning: 10run/4th inning: 8 runs/5th inning
• Sunflower seed are not permitted inside the fieldhouse
  • No Outside food is permitted on the turf
• Weather: any delays or cancellations will be made by the tournament director. If a tournament is cancelled due to weather, refunds will be issued based on the number of teams registered, divisions may be combined
• Two umpires provided per game
  • 1 Umpire for 10u games
• Softballs will be provided for games. Teams are permitted to bring warm up balls
• Bats need to be USA certified 
• A certified trainer will be available 
• NO metal spikes allowed
• Each Team Must Provide
  • Their own uniforms with numbers clearly marked
  • An official score keeper or timer/scoreboard operator for each game
