Matt Drake joined Sanford Sports Academy in 2023. He started his golfing career at Tea Area High School in Tea, South Dakota and played at the collegiate level at Augustana University. After his collegiate career ended, Drake turned professional in 2016 and has won three events. 

Drake bases his coaching style on where he’s observed golfers succeed the most. This approach is a positive first step in helping refine each golfer’s skill set. He strives to bring positive energy to each lesson, which helps create a strong relationship with each golfer. Drake aims to educate his pupils to ensure a better understanding of developing and refining their golfing skills.

Drake enjoys working at Sanford Sports Academy because he loves providing opportunities for golfers of all levels and helping them develop their skills. He enjoys collaborating with other coaches within the academy to create consistent, successful teaching styles and strategies.
